Kazakhstan’s uranium output up 61% in Jan.-Sept.

RIA Novosti reports Kazatomprom, nuclear power company says Kazakhstan’s uranium output increased 61%, year-on-year, in January-September 2009 to 9,535 metric tons.
Kazatomprom is the national operator for the import and export of uranium, rare metals, nuclear fuel for power plants, special equipment and duel-purpose materials.
Kazatomprom is wholly owned by the government of Kazakhstan.
