Canadian Mining Journal reported the Canadian government has announced that in its opinion the proposed Midwest uranium mine is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
As quoted in the market news:
The Midwest project is owned by Areva Resources Canada (69%), Denison Mines (25%) and OURD (Canada) Co. (6%). It is located in the Wollaston Lake area of the Athabasca Basin. The development proposal calls for an open pit mine with the ore being treated at the nearby McClean Lake mill.
